Evolis Edikio ... An efficient solution for creating labels for supermarkets' fresh produce sections

Client : Monolith German
Since 2018, 42 Mix-Markt stores in Germany have been using the all-in-one Edikio Price Tag solution from Evolis to label their refrigerated goods.

The goal: Quick and efficient price tag labeling in supermarkets

Specializing in importing Eastern European products, the Monolith group is one of Europe's biggest wholesalers, with around 300 Mix-Markt supermarkets to its name.

Initially, Monolith's head office acquired an Evolis printer to issue its payment cards. The West region's sales rep was impressed by the all-in-one Edikio Price Tag solution to replace the laminated paper price tags that were previously used for meat and fish counters. Because the counters are cleaned daily with water, the old paper labels soaked up the moisture, becoming unusable and needing to be reprinted on a regular basis.
The West region’s sales rep chose Edikio Price Tag as a quick and efficient alternative for printing price labels on plastic cards.

The solution: Simple, easy price tag printing with Edikio Price Tag Access
After a first successful trial run, Monolith West ordered Edikio Price Tag Access solutions from German wholesaler Identbase for the region's 42 Mix-Markt stores.
Since 2018, these supermarkets have been using the Edikio Price Tag solution to create and print price tags for the fresh produce in their meat and fish sections.
Members of staff were trained by phone, and the employees found the Edikio Price Tag solution easy to get to grips with thanks to the simple, user-friendly software.

The results: Between 80 and 150 labels are continuously in use in the fresh produce sections

Ever since the Edikio Price Tag Access solutions were installed in the supermarkets, employees have been spending much less time on preparing labels.

The 42 supermarkets have provided extremely positive feedback on using Edikio Price Tag and the solution's results. The new plastic card price tags are much more hygienic than the old paper versions, and the counters are much more visually appealing. The stores use black cards printed in white, featuring:

The brand logo
Product information
Allergens
Prices.
80 to 150 labels are in use in each store's fresh produce sections and are only ever reprinted when product details or prices change.
