Because the system monitors a sensitive area (bathrooms), designers incorporate multiple layers of privacy protection: No cameras inside – The most fundamental safeguard. Cameras are strictly positioned outside and angled away from entrances. Staff only by design – Faces are recognized, staff IDs are retrieved with date and time stamp . Data minimisation – Only metadata (timestamps, duration) is kept; raw video is deleted from time to time Access controls – Only authorised HR or facility managers can view aggregated reports. Individual‑level data is restricted and audited. Transparency & consent – Employees are informed via signage, policies, and sometimes direct consultation. Purpose limitation – Data is used solely for the stated purposes (e.g., occupancy planning, health support) and not for disciplinary action unless abuse is severe and documented.
