The MC55X is complete replacing of the MC55A0/MC55N0. you will not longer able to buy the MC55A0 or MC55N) from Zebra Malaysia. The good new is all existing peripherals and accessories for the MC55 will be compatible with the MC55X and the MC55X will ship with a 3600 mAh capacity battery.
Compare with MC55 which is having 256 MB RAM and 1 GB Flash, MC55X have been upgraded it memory to 512 MB Ram and 2 GB Flash. MC55x Expanded Memory Size for microSD Card now can supports up to 32 GB.
In term of barcode scan engine, Zebra have change the existing MC55 2D engine from SE4500-SR to her latest much more faster decoding engine SE4710. Compare with MC55 with it old 3.2MP colour camera, MX55x now come with the much more higher resolution camera 8.0MP and supports up to 8X digital zoom.
The MC55X preserves the ruggedness of the MC55 with the following specs, Multiple 6ft./1.8m drops per MIL-STD 810G, 1,000 half meter tumbles, IP64 sealing, Electrostatic Discharge (ESD) 15KV Air, 8KV Touch.
Summary is the existing MC55 user will have a very smooth upgrade from their existing MC55 model to MC55x zebra mobile computer. They still be able to use back their existing accessories for MC55. Thanks for the Zebra technology upgrade to give user the better experience on this technology upgrade and faster smooth feeling.
