Few important aspects in the barcode verification process include barcode scanning rate, barcode sticker present, barcode content comparison.

The barcode scanning rate is the percentage of the barcode able to be read by the barcode scanner. This is one of the complaints in Malaysia barcode society where the barcode sticker must be able to be read by the pos counter and customer in the retail store. This is to make sure the customer is able to check the pricing themselves and the cashier can easily check out the product on the check out POS counter.
