Progress Traceability in Automotive Industry

Progress Traceability has become a critical requirement for today’s industrial businesses to reduce risks and to stay competitive. With increased automation comes a rising need for more ways to identify the parts and materials in production. Autotrack Solutions is expanding to meet the demand in Automotive industry environments.

When it comes to automation, Autotrack Solutions took off in automotive manufacturing, assembly and spare part inventory — across multiple levels of tier suppliers as well as with the car makers themselves.

With automation, there’s less ability to manually be able to track or apply tractability for something that’s going through processes. Especially if there is any robotics involved. Even smaller parts on a rotary table can be problematic for operators to track. Example: A part enters and leaves a rotary table that could be several feet in diameter, in an enclosure, and at a speed that an operator couldn’t track or trace.

The Autotrack Progress traceability module provides manufacturing traceability with the data, insights, and intelligence you need to:

Provide accurate and timely reporting and documentation to meet industry regulations and quality audits and Recall & Analysis.
Gain greater visibility into the product life-cycle to discover how a defective part was first introduced into production.
Improved production scheduling with visibility into products, parts, components and subassemblies availability and inventory levels.
Track and troubleshooting supplier performance and quality problems
Reduce waste and costs associated with spoilage.

Autotrack Progress Traceability Solution Functionality
APTS provides the visibility you need to quickly find, track and report critical information related to a product’s location, production status and supplier source.

Compliance Reporting. APTS provides manufacturers with the flexibility of selecting between custom and standard reporting options including Recall and Analysis and product/device history for each unit produced for highly regulated industries

Search and filtering. APTS provides numerous ways to search for product data including Serial #, lot #, packing slip, work order, label number including shipment, serial number and Receipt to the lot level.

Real-Time Monitoring. Reduce risk and ensure quality compliance with real-time access to production and process quality data from the plant floor.

End-to-End Integration. APTS provides manufacturers with end-to-end visibility starting from their suppliers and through production to customer delivery.

Materials and Expiration Monitoring. APTS provides quick and easy to view raw material expiration dates when handling perishable materials and plan production ahead of those dates.

Security. Item-based security is designed into the application so you can selectively choose which data elements to share.

Data Collaboration. APTS is also designed to share key data with customers easily by enabling them instantly to print detail tracking reports

Extensive Drill Down. Product Groupings and quick drill-down capability to the item, component, raw material and supplier data.

The APTS Technology

APTS works with devices including Windows & Android tablets and Android phones but the most usual is a rugged device designed for industrial environments and including GPRS, 3G or 4G network (depending on device), GPS, WLAN, phone, camera, barcode scanner and RFID reader if needed. This allows APTS to record Information, faults or damage with pictures and GPS based location information if needed. APTS also offers a range of labels and RFID tags designed for use in extreme environments and the range includes options for attachment to a wide range of surfaces, tags incorporating visual identification, RFID tags able to demonstrate tampering and ATEX compliant RFID tags for use in explosive atmospheres.
