HONEYWELL CT60 GEN 2 DIFFERENTIATE FOR SPECIFIC ENVIRONMENT HAZARDOUS
03/Mar/2020

CT60 ATEX ZONE 2/22 CERTIFIED Rugged, powerful, full-touchscreen computer for highly mobile, front-line workers in scan-intensive jobs that demand efficient data capture and reliable connectivity anywhere Now working in hazardous environments.

Improved resistance of the screen Market data showed overwhelmingly the need to improve the screen resilience to shocks, drops, scratches etc. Screen glass will change to Gorilla glass 5.

Warm Battery Swap Users need to have the capability of changing the battery on the fly. This improves their productivity and streamlines their workflows. Warm swapping with programmatic intervention allowing up to 1 minute time for battery changing.

Louder Speaker Users need higher sound levels from the speaker to improve communication with VOIP via the external speaker communications. A larger speaker is used inside the CT60 to provide about 2x higher volume at the same power level.

Visibility in landscape Users complained that when the screen of the device is oriented in landscape mode, while using polarizing sunglasses, the device visibility is reduced to zero. Adding a special filter under the screen allows light from the screen to become circularly polarized. (This solution is currently used in the CT40 and in popular commercial devices.)

Improved scanner Using the 7th generation (N67x series) scanning engine, with a slim form factor, required no changes to the device form-factor. Data shows very good improvements in the scanning range from previous generation (N66x series) scanning engine, depending on the type of media read.

Accessories backward compatible We maintained the accessories compatibility across different SKUs to reduce the potential pain to end-customers when adding new models to their fleet of devices Implement the modifications inside the device such that there is no change in the overall formfactor.
